Even though webinars are popular, no one is going to rush to join your webinar if it's on an unpopular or dull topic. So you need to do your market research to find out what your audience really wants.
How?
Easy: go to marketplaces like Amazon.com, ClickBank.com and JVZoo.com to find out what topics sell well in your niche. Then create a webinar on the same topic.
For example, if you are selling weight loss information, a quick check of marketplaces tells you that getting rid of belly fat / getting washboard abs is an in-demand topic. Create a webinar on that topic, your seats will be sold out.
Now you need to do a little research to figure out which platform is right for you. This is going to depend on how many seats you intend to sell, whether you need features such as live chat with the audience, whether you need moderators and more.
Here are platforms for you to consider:
Now you need to prepare your slides or other materials for the webinar. This may include:
- Creating a PowerPoint™ presentation. Slides should include both graphics and text to make your presentation visually engaging.
- Showing a demonstration. For example, you might share your desktop with participants to show them how to install a WordPress blog. Or you might point the camera on yourself to show people how to perform a kettlebell exercise.
As you create your presentation, keep these tips in mind:
- Create an outline. You don't want to read from a script, because then you'll sound like a robot. But you also don't want to wing it, because then you'll end up rambling. So create an outline of the exact tips, steps and points you'd like to cover.
- Keep things moving forward. People are going to get bored if they have to look at the same slide or same static image for too long. So keep the presentation moving along by changing the slides about every 20 seconds or so.
- Practice! Record yourself going through your presentation a few times. You might even ask a trusted colleague to critique your presentation in terms of both usefulness and how engaging it is.
- Put a promo at the end. Your presentation should naturally lead to a paid promo at the end. E.G., "You just discovered three great ways to drive highly targeted traffic to your site. To get your hands on my complete traffic-generation strategy, go to ____..."
