Put Hotels On Your Real Estate

 

In the game Monopoly you learn to monetize your property, your real estate, by putting houses or hotels on them. If people should chance to land on your property, you want their stop to be profitable for you, right? So let’s talk about your real estate (websites, blogs, pdfs) and decide whether you’re getting the most out of it.

 

What’s on your pages? Your 404 error pages, download pages, first AR (autoresponder) message after a sale, and the last pages of your products/pdfs? They’re prime for easy profit.

 

404 Error Page: This is the page someone arrives at when they’re trying to get to a page on your website that doesn’t exist. Check your stats – you’ve probably got lots of traffic landing on your 404 error page. Sad to know, but it might even be the page on your site that gets the most traffic!

 

Create a page on your website that will become your 404 page. On that page you’ll put a blurb about it being a 404 page they’ve reached. Then you need to redirect them (because they don’t want to stay there), so send them to another of your products or an affiliate product. Alternately, you can use the space to offer an opt-in freebie to work on upping your list numbers.

 

Opt-In Download Page: When someone signs up for your opt-in freebie, they are sent to your download page. What’s stopping you from putting a small promotion on that page, along with the download link for the free product?

 

Download Page After a Sale: As above, only it can be more effective because they’ve just bought from you and are not just looking for a freebie. Make the product offer a special one for these buyers. And don’t put any old product offer on the download page, pick something that will compliment the product they just bought. How To videos can make a great accompaniment.

 

First AR Message: Since you need to set up a first email message that goes out automatically when someone opts in to your list, use that space to thank them and give them the download link again, and to also offer a short promotion. Don’t try to bash them over the head, just make it a soft sell.

 

Your Products: At the end of your product pdf or video is an excellent place to add a promotion. They’re ready to leave, so direct where they go by giving them a short pre-sell message and a link. Make it a product that ties into the current product.

 

Some people might consider using all these pages to promote as too much. If you feel that way, try using one or two suggestions and go from there. They may not work in every situation and it could depend on your niche, but at least make a conscious decision and don’t leave money on the table if you don’t want to.
