5 Lesser Known Traffic Sources

Fresh new traffic is hard to obtain, even from the better
known sources, such as search engines, backlinks from the
likes of article directories and blogs, and not forgetting
hits from YouTube videos and social media sites.

But there are many more ways of generating traffic, a lot
of which are not well know, and yet provide excellent
sources of targetted traffic.

Here are just five to give you some ideas:

1. Guest Blogging:

This can be an excellent way to get not only good traffic,
but also recognition by association. It can really boost
the return you get to your own blogs, especially if you can
be accepted as a guest blogger on a major blog in your
niche. And it is actually quite easy to do.

First find the top blogs within your topic. Contact the
owner and offer your services, but do not mention things
like traffic or posts. Give them samples showing the quality
of your writing and content. If it’s good and adds value to
their blog and for their readers, they will be interested in
having it on their site.

2. Write Tutorials:

We all have skills of some sort. Tutorials are a great
source of traffic on sites like Instructables.com, or
WikiHow.com, for example. By writing a short tutorial on
something you are especially skilled at, it will almost
assuredly generate traffic from these sites.

3. Coupons

Always a nice traffic source, as long as you have something
good for sale. An overlooked area with coupons is that they
can also be linked to affiliate offers.

4. Content Aggregator Sites:

These sites allow you to submit your site and its contents
to be reposted there and can bring huge traffic returns.
Also highly effective is syndication. The aim here is to
produce quality content so that the aggregators will want
to share it with their readers.

5. Embed your Videos:

Embedding your videos will always generate additional
traffic, and is simple to do. Having submitted your video
to YouTube, you then embed that link on sites such as
MetaCafe, where it will be aggregated. By submitting to
more sites, more traffic will be generated.

Successful marketing means not only using the tried and
tested methods, but also finding as many new sources of
both paid and free traffic as possible. Diversification
will mean you never again have to worry about where your
traffic comes from.
